As early as 1991, Dana entered the Chinese market, with its headquarters located in Shanghai, and successively established a number of production plants and technology centers. For example, Shenyang Jinya provides drive shaft components for local customers, Fujian Taiya provides drive axles for many Chinese customers for light buses and commercial vehicles, Dana Wuxi Technology Co., Ltd. specializes in manufacturing axles and thermal management products, and Dongfeng Dana Axle Co., Ltd. provides products for medium – and heavy – duty vehicles. The Dana China Technology Center, which opened in 2011, covers an area of 11,000 square meters and provides global design and testing support for non – highway axles and transmissions, light – duty axles and drive shafts, seals, and thermal management products. In recent years, Dana has continuously increased its investment in China. For example, in 2023, it invested in building a new production base in Wuxi, which is planned to be completed by the end of 2024 and put into use in early 2025. The scale of the new base is expected to be twice that of the existing base.
